Paolo Curto nasceu perto de Veneza e aos oito anos de idade mudou-se para Sardenha, onde começou a desenvolver sua paixão pelos oceanos. E onde mora até hoje. Fotografou em todos os mares do mundo, em mais de 50 países, de todos os continentes, incluindo o Brasil.

Teve o privilégio de fotografar a maioria das supermodels dos anos 80 e 90, como Paulina Porizkova, Elle MacPherson, Renée Simonsen, Tyra Banks, Raquel Hunter e Kathy Ireland, em locações paradisíacas como México, Caribe e Flórida, para os Especiais Swimsuit de 1984, 89 e 93, da famosa revista americana Sport Illustrated, sonho de consumo dos fotógrafos de moda.

Suas fotos da vida selvagem, foram publicadas em revistas como National Geographic e Underwater World, como a matéria que fez sobre Cachalotes, em 1976, na Ilha da Madeira.

Fotografou também para revistas como Photo, Playboy, Paris Match, Stern, entre outras. Já expôs sua arte na Itália, França, Suíça e Estados Unidos. E lançou os livros “Secret Beaches” e “Costa Smeralda”.
