Joaquim Nabuco nasceu no Rio de Janeiro em 1962, herdando o nome do bisavô abolicionista, que por coincidência nasceu no Dia Mundial da Fotografia, 19 de agosto.

Lançou 3 livros nos Estados Unidos em apenas 2 anos: “Braziliangels” (2010), “Paradise in Brazil” (2012) e “The Art of Brazilian Architecture” (2012). Os dois primeiros retratam a beleza e sensualidade da mulher brasileira em paisagens fascinantes do país. E o terceiro, apresenta a arte de alguns dos nossos maiores arquitetos. Os livros foram lançados pela Schiffer Books, com distribuição internacional, levando as belezas do Brasil para os quatro cantos do mundo.

Nabuco começou sua carreira, nos anos 80, como fotojornalista nos jornais O Globo, Estado de SP e revistas da Editora Abril. Nos anos 90, mudou-se para São Paulo, onde abriu seu primeiro estúdio, especializando-se em fotografia de moda, publicidade, arquitetura e capas de discos, trabalhando para grandes marcas nacionais e internacionais.

Em 2001, retornou ao Rio de Janeiro, transferindo seu estúdio para cidade maravilhosa, cenário constante de suas fotos. Em 2004, criou o site “Colirio Brasil”, em parceria com o portal UOL, grande sucesso na internet por 6 anos e que deu origem ao livro “Braziliangels”.

Após o lançamento dos livros, começou a ser procurado por clientes interessados adquirir suas fotos como obras de arte. Acreditando no potencial da fotografia no mercado de arte, tornou-se também galerista e curador, criando em 2016, com sua mulher Deyse Krieger, a Cinza Photogallery.
Uma galeria de arte especializada em fotografia, que representa de novos talentos a artistas consagrados. Entre suas séries expostas na Cinza estão “Rio Sem Cor”, “Beleza Selvagem” e “Realismo Abstrato”.

Joaquim Nabuco was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1962. He received the same name of his great grand-father, famous for his struggle in the abolition of slavery in Brazil. Coincidentally, Nabuco’s important ancestor was born on August 19th, the World Photography Day.

He released 3 books in the United States in only 2 years: “Braziliangels” (2010), “Paradise in Brazil” (2012) and “The Art of Brazilian Architecture” (2012). The first two feature the beauty and sensuality of the Brazilian woman in the amasing landscapes of the country. And the third one, presents the art of some of the greatest Brazilian architects. The books were published by Schiffer Books, with international distribution, taking the beauties of Brazil to the four corners of the world.

Nabuco began his career in the 1980s, as a photojournalist in the newspapers O Globo, Estado SP and the magazines of Editora Abril. In the 1990s, he moved to São Paulo, where he opened his first studio, specializing in advertising, architecture, album covers and fashion photography, shooting for major brands.

In 2001, he returned to Rio de Janeiro, transferring his studio to his home town, often scenery of his photos. In 2004, he created the website “Colírio Brasil”, in partnership with the brazilian internet giant UOL. In Portuguese, “colírio” means “eye drops” and in Brazil it is a slang for beautiful woman. It was a great success for 6 years and generate the book “Braziliangels”.

After releasing his books, Nabuco began to be contacted by customers interested in acquire his photos as works of art. Believing in the potential of photography in the art market, he also became gallerist and curator, creating in 2016, with his wife Deyse Krieger, the Cinza Photogallery. An art gallery specializing in photography, which represents from new talents to established artists. Among his series exhibited in Cinza are “Rio Without Color”, “Wild Beauty” and “Abstract Realism”.
